VITAMIN C ARTICLES
INTRODUCTION OF VITAMIN C
Vitamin C which also known as ascorbic acid, have a characteristics of water-soluble nutrient. It also represent as an antioxidant in the body in process to protect the cells from damage. The damage of cells is caused by the free radicals. What is the free radicals? It’s mean when we eat, the bodies will convert all the food into energy form and produced compounds called free radicals. Free radicals also obtained through the environment especially from air pollution, cigarette smoke, and UV light from the sun.
Vitamin C do plays an important role in brain function by involve in the synthesis of norepinephrine, a neurotransmitter. It also have an essential role in the synthesis of carnitine that helps convert fat to energy. Vitamin C is also involve in the formation of eight distinct enzymes that help regulate a variety of chemical body processes.
Human body also needs vitamin C to make collagen. Collagen is a protein required to help wounds heal. Collagen also necessary for the growth, health, and repair of bones, tendons, and cartilage. Vitamin C aid the immune system to work properly in order to protect the body from disease and improving the process of iron absorption from plant-type foods. In detail, Vitamin C enhances absorption of heme iron, which is an important element of hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is the part of blood that transports oxygen throughout the body.

What is the effect is we do not get enough vitamin C?
If someone get less amount or no more vitamin C which is below 10mg per day for a several weeks, they maybe can get scurvy. Scurvy will causes fatigue, joint pain, small red or purple spots on the skin, inflammation of the gums, poor wound healing, and corkscrew hairs. Also, someone will feel the depression, swollen, loosening or loss of teeth and bleeding gums.
What is the bad effects of excess intake of vitamin C?
Taking too much vitamin C can cause diarrhea, stomach cramps and nausea. High amount of vitamin C could damage body tissues and worsen iron overload for a people who experience hemochromatosis problem(the body store too much iron).

METHODS YOU USED AND THE CONCEPT OF IT.
This experiment is about to calculate the vitamin C content using iodine-starch test. In this experiment, we use two method to measure the vitamin C content which are we just manipulated the level of temperature. The first method is using temperature which is just a normal room temperature and the other one is cold temperature. The cooling process is occurs in freezer for 15 minutes.
The concept for this experiment is vitamin C measurement by using two different method The apparatus and materials for this experiment are :- Materials:-
FINDING AND REASONS. From this experiment, I can state that the amount of vitamin C is highest in pineapple extract treat by cooling method compared to normal method. This can be seen through the total volume of iodine used. The volume of iodine used is same with the amount of ascorbic acid of pineapple extract. The reason for this finding is the foods that are being frozen have higher nutrient content compared to the normal one because the food scored more antioxidant-type compound such as vitamin C.
CONCLUDE YOUR IDEA.. So, through this experiment we can see the differences between pineapple vitamin C content when treated by difference surrounding(temperature).
